A pioneer in self-driving cars – Alphabet’s Waymo – will test technology in New Mexico

Keep an eye out for a leader in the self-driving car effort: Waymo.

The company – part of Google-parent Alphabet – said Thursday it’s going to test drive trucking and minivan-driving between New Mexico and Texas. That will include key interstates – and the local region for the automated vehicles, a Waymo spokesperson said.

“We’ll be driving primarily on the interstates like I-10, I-20 and I-45, but will also be driving around the El Paso, Dallas, and Houston areas,” the spokesperson…
