The text messages that offer wholesale flower to people who work in New Mexico’s cannabis industry often come with one key question: “Does it need to be traceable?”

“Which is essentially saying, do you need to be able to show a forensic record in BioTrack,” said an executive of a New Mexico-based cannabis company who spoke on the condition of anonymity. That executive said they wanted to protect their employees who are frequently sent offers to buy black market cannabis.
