City moving forward with plans to expand Sunport's air cargo facility

Out of space at its current digs, the city of Albuquerque plans a major expansion to the Albuquerque International Sunport’s air cargo facility — and construction companies should have a chance to make their case to build it.

The building area includes 100,000 square feet for interior work, office space, warehouse space, and truck docks. The project will include the construction of a parking lot, an access road to the new facility, and more.

The city estimates the construction to cost $20 million.
