General Dynamics inks $2.5B contract for upgraded Stryker vehicles

The Army on Wednesday awarded General Dynamics Corp. (NYSE: GD) a $2.48 billion contract to produce an upgraded version of its Stryker armored infantry carrier vehicle.

The seven-year contract calls on the Reston company to provide the Army with its Stryker Double V-Hull (DVH) A1 engineering change proposal (ECP) vehicles. The reconfigured Stryker has tested more resistant to mine and improvised explosive device detonations and includes a number of engineering and electronic upgrades.
