Between July 1, 2017 and the same date this year, the Land of Enchantment saw its population increase by over 7,300, a rate of just under 1 percent growth, according to Census data released last week. And though New Mexico was the slowest-growing state in the Southwest, it did outpace the national average of 0.6 percent.
