In a race that turned out to be less close than national races, Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham will become New Mexico’s next governor, beating out her Republican opponent Steve Pearce.
Lujan Grisham and running mate Howie Morales won 57 percent of the votes, according to unofficial election results Wednesday morning.
Gov. Susana Martinez, who was elected in 2011, is term-limited and couldn’t seek re-election.
Both Lujan Grisham and Pearce gave up their congressional seats to run for governor.…
