Scalo's parent company files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

The parent company of mainstay Albuquerque eatery Scalo Northern Italian Grill, Esperanza Enterprises, has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Esperanza Enterprises filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Feb. 14 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico.

Albuquerque lawyer Dennis Banning of New Mexico Financial and Family Law, an attorney representing Esperanza who filed the bankruptcy paperwork, said Scalo aims to reopen this week.
