Southwest Airlines could furlough more than 80 Albuquerque employees next year, state filings show

Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) has informed New Mexico that it could furlough about 83 Albuquerque-based employees next year if the airline can’t reach agreements with unions on cost-cutting measures.

Dallas-based Southwest told the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions about the involuntary furloughs in a Dec. 3 letter obtained by Albuquerque Business First. The airline said the involuntary furloughs would affect 48 customer representatives, 25 ramp agents and 10 operations agents who…
