Stone Age Climbing Gym opens a second location

Beginning on Aug. 8, Albuquerque indoor rock climbing enthusiasts will have new terrain to climb. Stone Age Climbing Gym will open the doors to its new location on Alameda Blvd.

Co-owner Bryan Pletta said he would think about expanding when memberships at Stone Age’s original Midtown location — which opened in 1997 — would near capacity. After conducting a poll among gym’s members in February 2017, Pletta and co-owner Cristina Radu decided to expand to somewhere in the Northeast Heights.
