Balloon Fiesta brings pilots from around the world (slideshow)

Pilots from several countries gathered at Balloon Fiesta Park Wednesday morning for the annual Flight of the Nations Mass Ascension, which commenced after about two hours of wind delays

One of those pilots was Filip Audenaert, who ventured to the Duke City all the way from Belgium, where he said similar events see around 60 hot air balloons at most. This year was Audenaert’s tenth visit to Balloon Fiesta, but his co-pilot has been coming for nearly two decades, he said.
