City Council proposes $1.5 million for safety and business promotion on Central

Dozens of business owners gathered at West Downtown eatery Modern General to hear a new City Council proposal that would bring more police officers and funding to protect and promote the Central Ave. corridor.

The proposal would add $1 million to the city budget for community policing focused on four areas along Central, and $500,000 for marketing grants for promoting business.
