Internships can be a path to opportunity for high school students

Traditional high school jobs can have little bearing on one’s future beyond providing extra income that can help offset college expenses. But an internship — a short-term work experience at an organization — can provide valuable insight into a possible career choice and give students a leg up on future employment opportunities.
