New Mexico no longer meeting two key targets in fight against Covid-19 infections

One of the state’s leaders in the fight against Covid-19 infections said on Thursday that while steep increases in the state’s cases and spread rate are worrisome, the measures in place are sufficient to keep numbers low.

But “in order for those directives to work, we have to follow them,” New Mexico Human Services Secretary Dr. David Scrase said Thursday during a news conference.

He specifically referred to wearing masks, maintaining distance from others, not hosting or attending large gatherings…
