ABQ stadium parking lot to be converted into emergency helipad to serve patients

Should a surge in patients, local hospitals can now transport the ill by helicopter.

That’s thanks to a helipad built in a parking lot at Milne Stadium. The work was wrapped up over the weekend by Phoenix-based Sunland Asphalt.

Presbyterian Healthcare Services put in a request to the city to carve out a helipad in preparation for a potential surge in patients, Presbyterian Director of Communications Melanie Moses said.
