Chile Farmers and Farms of the Region

There is nothing better than fresh New Mexico chile produced in the rich farm lands of the Rio Grande and the Socorro area has many local family farmers who raise more than five varieties of green chile. Chiles range from mild to extra hot:
  • NM6 4 and Joe Parker are both mild and meaty;
  • Big Jim is a very long chile;
  • Sandia is medium hot;
  • Barker and Nombre are hot hot hot.
Many of the farmers also raise vine-ripened tomatoes, sweet corn, summer and winter squash, okra, watermelons, bell peppers,cucumbers, jalapenos and cantaloupes. Call the farmers below for a sale location near you.
