Evacuation orders for the South Fork and Salt fires, which continue to burn thousands of acres around the Village of Ruidoso, the City of Ruidoso Downs and the Mescalero Apache Reservation, lifted on Monday, clearing the way for local residents to return to their homes and businesses in the Southeastern New Mexico mountains.
