It was all anyone could talk about in a group of women journalists I belong to.

The story on a news site called The Lily started with a jaw-dropping anecdote of a successful chief executive who left her career to take care of her kids during Covid. She did so, the Lily reported, because three days into the pandemic, her husband, who was taking some time off from his career, told her “I can’t do it.”
