Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham Thursday afternoon said she planned to appoint a racial justice czar within the Governor’s Office and create an advisory Council for Racial Justice.
The czar and council will monitor state institutions and hold them accountable for ending systemic racism, and ensure fair and equal treatment and opportunities for all people, according to the governor’s office.
