Medical cannabis, legalized in 2007, is a shrinking business in New Mexico. At its peak in May 2022, according to reports by the New Mexico Department of Health, there were 135,388 patients enrolled in the state’s medical cannabis program. In January 2024, that number sat at 83,309.
