New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology President Stephen Wells is the school’s highest-salaried employee, according to data provided by the university.
Wells, who is the 17th president of the university based in Socorro, will earn $339,165 as of Sept. 10, according to the data. He has a Ph.D in geology and oversees a public academic and research university with 2,150 students and 888 faculty and staff.
