Descartes Labs, the Santa Fe high-tech software firm, has named Phil Fraher CEO, succeeding Mark Johnson, a co-founder.
The move comes as the company, which is working to apply machine learning to big datasets for the modeling and predicting of things like crop yield and climate change, prepares to scale.
An internal announcement was made Monday, four months after Fraher joined the company as CFO. He said he and Johnson “really bonded” and that their skillsets worked well together.
