The new year brought a change for Rebecca Avitia.
For the first time in nearly five years, Avitia is not leading the National Hispanic Cultural Center, after resigning from her post of executive director. Her last day was Dec. 31.
Avitia told Business First on Thursday that she, along with other state government “exempt” employees, was asked to resign from their positions the week of Thanksgiving and invited to reapply as new Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham began transitioning her team to Santa Fe.…
