Furniture retailer to take vacant Sears space at Coronado

Furniture City is taking over a prominent big-box space at the Coronado Center.

Brookfield Properties, which manages Coronado Center, confirmed the retailer signed a lease to occupy the entire former Sears at the mall, which is 75,000 square feet. The store is under construction and expects to open in early October, said Lindsay Khan, senior manager for public relations for Brookfield Properties.
