Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed legislation that takes the state a step toward cleaner energy.
On Friday, Lujan Grisham signed Senate Bill 489, called the Energy Transition Act. The bill sets energy standards and establishes a pathway for a low-carbon energy transition away from coal while providing workforce training and transition assistance to affected communities, according to a release.
