JCPenney to close 150+ stores, including one in NM

J.C. Penney Co. Inc. will slash about 1,000 jobs in corporate, field management and international positions in connection with its organizational realignment, according to a news release addressing organization restructuring.

The Plano, Texas-based retailer (NYSE: JCP), which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May, has also identified 152 store closures and is negotiating with landlords, according to the announcement made on Wednesday.
