Los Alamos National Laboratory released Thursday its latest economic impact figures.
In fiscal year 2017, the lab was responsible for directly employing over 11,800, and direct expenditures from its workers and vendors created an additional 9,400 jobs. LANL workers made over $112,000 on average during the period, according to the study. The study, which focused on the state economy, was conducted by the University of New Mexico Bureau of Business and Economic Research. It was commissioned by LANL.
