For the first time in a decade, the New Mexico Legislature had a budget surplus to work with during its session — a sizable one at $1.2 billion.
Many bills passed and failed that could have possible ramifications for New Mexico’s business community for years to come. Ernie C’de Baca, president and CEO of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, said the state won’t know the true impact of the legislation until a few years down the line.
