Local businesspeople branch out, open ABQ's newest brewery

Two local businesspeople with a variety of experience are responsible for the newest addition to Albuquerque’s bubbling beer scene.

It’s called Cantero Brewing Co., and it opened Saturday. The 6,000-square-foot-facility is located at 3351 Columbia Drive NE in the city’s “brewery district” between Comanche and Candelaria east of Interstate 25. The area is also home to La Cumbre Brewery, Canteen Brewhouse and Left Turn Distilling.

Co-owner Kane Oueis revels in the competition: “The more the merrier.”
