More than 100 out of work as Las Cruces call center closes

The economic downturn caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has shuttered the Empereon Marketing call center in Las Cruces.

Empereon said 128 employees have been laid off as of May 31, according to a letter to the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions as part of complying with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification.

Those 128 employees were furloughed on March 24, and the facility at 2255 S. Main Street was temporarily closed based on the “Stay at Home” public health emergency order…
