A new study conducted by the University of New Mexico Bureau of Business and Economics Research and commissioned by the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center details considerable economic impact from the state’s 19 pueblos.
Pueblo-owned enterprises employed a total of 7,799 people in 2017 and saw nearly $1.1 billion in sales, over a quarter of which came from out of state. Hotels and casinos accounted for almost 87 percent of tribal enterprise employment.
