NM's unemployment rate dips in August, Lost Wages Assistance program ends

After back-to-back months of increases, August’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in New Mexico came in at 11.3%, down from 12.7%, according to a state Department of Workforce Solutions report.

In August 2019, New Mexico’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.8%, the release said.

Nationally, the unemployment rate in August was 8.4 percent, down from 10.2 percent in July and up from 3.7 percent in August 2019, the release said.
