The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission has approved utility PNM’s request for an expedited approval of two new solar farms to be used by Facebook’s data center.
The request was submitted Aug. 24. PRC Chairman Sandy Jones told Business First earlier this week that fast-tracking such applications is beneficial for New Mexico’s business environment.
“We think that [an expedited approval] was instrumental in landing the Facebook deal,” Jones said. “We beat the socks off Utah.”
