Following an “unprecedented” hiring round, Sandia National Laboratories is expanding its off-campus presence.
The lab, one of the area’s largest employers, began moving 100 employees into a leased space, 2301 Buena Vista Drive SE, in December.
Spokeswoman Heather Clark said the off-site lease, which she said was signed in August and is the largest the lab has executed to date by square footage, was needed to make room for the over 1,100 newly created positions hired for last year.
