Southern NM casino among three companies to notify the state of potential layoffs

Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino has filed noticed with the state that temporary layoffs could turn into more than 250 permanent job cuts.

My Way Holdings LLC, the holding company for Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino, said the potential layoffs could begin in September, according to a letter filed with the state as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification act.

In the July 29 letter, My Way Holdings said 259 positions could be affected as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
