Texas legislature to debate ending all film incentives

A new bill seeks to end subsidies for Texas’s film industry.

The Austin Business Journal reports Rep. Matt Shaheen, R-Plano, plans to introduce such a bill in the next legislative session. The incentives are put on the chopping block for scrutiny every two years, and the last time it was up for debate about $32 million was allocated to the subsidies.
