Union Pacific announces NM expansion

Union Pacific plans to grow its New Mexico presence.

The railroad plans to invest $20 million at its Santa Teresa Intermodal Terminal and Refueling Station to increase capacity, according to the New Mexico Economic Development Department.

The company intends to expand with an additional block swap yard that will allow it to add container blocks to passing trains faster, according to a release. The project aims to increase shipments for customers along the railroad’s 760-mile Sunset Corridor…
