What can we learn about COVID-19 in New Mexico from newly released state data?

About a week ago during a news conference, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham hinted that the public could soon see deeper data related to the state’s COVID-19 infections than had previously been made available.

State health officials had posted daily case updates since the first case of the coronavirus was announced on March 11. But unless they compiled data by hand each day, the media and the public only saw the number of people tested and the number of people found to be infected.
