What six charts can tell us about the coronavirus cases in New Mexico

In late February, just a few weeks before terms like self-isolation and social distancing became staples of everyday conversation, New Mexico’s Department of Health began preparing to test for the COVID-19 virus. 

Since processing those first tests — 10 of which came back as negative on March 4 — the state has processed results for more than 8,500 people and identified more than 130 positive cases.
